Mold release agents
Lubricants are used to protect molds by preventing the adhesion of concrete and paint. They also contributing to easier removal of forms, thereby extending their service life. Basically, mold lubricants are divided into two groups, silicone based lubricants and oil based (petroleum) based lubricants. After application, silicone-based lubricants should dry on the mold, only in this case a greasy film will form, which will not wash off the mold for about 2-3 more cycles. After applying the oil-based lubricant, the molds are immediately ready for use, but this coating is enough for only one stripping cycle. Most often, silicone-based lubricants are used for polyethylene molds and ABS plastic molds, and oil-based lubricants are used for fiberglass molds.
